You will be taken to Microsoft’s new page announcing their partnership with Yahoo.

To Microsoft’s credit, they acquired and redirected SearchAlliance.com to their advertising site before formally notifying their customers about having received federal government approval  of a Search Alliance with Yahoo.

With the addition of SearchAlliance.com, Microsoft now has 26,893 domains registered.

Microsoft appears to have just flipped the switch on their new domain because SearchAlliance.com is still showing up for sale in Google search results.

Google Call Me Ads

January 14, 2010

I came across another Google Call Me ad today while looking at a website based in New York.

I had previously seen a similar Call Me ad by Google on the BusinessWeek website back in November 2009.

Although I run several Google advertising campaigns in New York, I haven’t yet discovered where within my Adwords accounts I can create and place Google’s Call Me ads.

This particular ad appears slightly different than the Call Me ad in BusinessWeek in that it doesn’t have the “leave us a voice message” option.

It does however offer the same “Keep number private” option found in the BusinessWeek ad.

As usual, Google is probably testing this new Pay per call feature in a few select markets with a few select advertisers.

Google Advertising Fundamentals Exam

I discovered a new exam within my Google Adwords Pro Center today called the Google Advertising Fundamentals Exam.

The Google Advertising Fundamentals exam covers the basic aspects of AdWords and online advertising, including account management and the value of search advertising.

I am not sure what promise if any passing this particular Google Exam holds.

Google Search and Adwords Results Mixup

September 16, 2009

I have noticed on several occassions after having searched for different local terms while logged into my iGoogle account, I have continued to get Adwords ads for my previous searches combined with my new search term’s results and ads.

In the example above, you can see how a search for Oklahoma Flowers includes both Google Adwords ads for Oklahoma Lawyers and Oklahoma flowers.

The only way I have found to clear the search cache appears to be to return to the Classic Google search box.

Google Crop Circles and Relevant Advertising

September 15, 2009

Google’s home page today is featuring a Google doodle of crop circles.

With the exception of last week’s link free 09-09-09 image, clicking on Google doodles takes searchers to more information about the featured doodle.

Enterprising advertisers and even opportunistic bloggers often try to package their sales message to capture the additional traffic generated by Google’s doodles.

Although both short sited and determental to an Adwords account’s quality, it doesn’t stop advertisers like the one featured below for a London based mail forwarding service from giving the increased search traffic for the “Crop Circles” keyword being promoted on Google today a try.

Probably unknown to Westone-Business.com, their ad won’t last the entire day.

Odds are this particular Google Adwords advertiser won’t know why either.

For Sale By Google Update

August 7, 2009

Today I have finalized the structure and content of my innovative marketing book For Sale by Google.

For Sale by Google (1) has three parts (3), six sections (6), twenty one chapters (21), one hundred eighty four “panels” (184) and seven hundred thirty six “panes” (736).

My book has taken over three years of research and contemplation to perfect.

For Sale by Google: How To Make Money Selling Your Products and Services On The Internet Using Google Adwords and Search Engine Marketing Strategies is long overdue, however I am now satisfied with my 85,000+ word argument.

I am excited about publishing my intellectual property and capitalizing on its full market potential particularly now.
