Twitter.com Displaying “New Tweets”

November 6, 2009

I noticed Twitter.com is now displaying the number of new Tweets that occur in between page refreshes and views over the web.

Previously, Twitter users who viewed their accounts on the web wouldn’t  have any idea how many Tweets had been made in between the time they viewed one page from the next.

With the Tweet Stream growing ever more volumunous for active Twitter users, this simple improvement may help prevent Stream Fatigue or cause more of it.

Creating Your Own Twitter Backup

August 8, 2009

A couple of weeks ago I scraped all of my Tweets, Followers and the people I was following from my Twitter account to create a back up copy in the event something went awry with the Twitter cloud.

As most every Twitter account holder now knows, Twitter.com was the target of a Distributed Denial of Service attack over the last several days which indeed made the Twitter cloud inaccessible for web users of their service – like me.

Having a back of my Twitter account didn’t help me any while their service was down, but knowing I had all of my account data backed up in another location like here within WordPress did give me extra piece of mind.

The following is the seventh installment of my Twitter account backup.

Twitter Down: Tweets DDOS Distributed Denial of Service Visualized

August 6, 2009

As every web user of Twitter.com knows by now, Twitter has been offline and inaccessible to web Tweeters.

The following graph from Nathan Reed illustrates the drop in Tweeting that has occurred as a result of the Twitter.com DDOS attack.

Gootter.com Real Time Q&A Engine

March 30, 2009

Since my primary blog still isn’t getting crawled by Google I have also published this post @SearchMarketingCommunications.com

I am also getting bored with the perpetual stream of incremental improvements from every imaginable corner of the world of technology.

Innovation by definition isn’t incremental so I am going to stop reporting incremental improvements.

Twitter is an answer engine looking for the right questions.

Google is a question engine that already has the right answers.

Gootter.com Google.com + Twitter.com will answer your questions before you ask them.
