Dragon Software Dictation To WordPress?

July 27, 2010

When will I be able to post to my WordPress blogs with Dragon software?

I can now Tweet to Twitter with Dragon’s iPhone App.

It would be cool if I could post to WordPress with the same app.

Google Webmaster Tools Site Performance

December 4, 2009

What’s the downside to using your own domain and WordPress’ domain mapping service?

A website that is slower than 100% of all other websites.

From Google’s new Webmaster Tools Site Performance tool:

On average, pages in your site take 38.3 seconds to load (updated on Dec 3, 2009). This is slower than 100% of sites. The chart below shows how your site’s average page load time has changed over the last few months. For your reference, it also shows the 20th percentile value across all sites, separating slow and fast load times.

Customize Publicized WordPress Tweet Messages

October 17, 2009

I have enabled all of my WordPress blogs to post directly from my dashboard directly to my Twitter account.

Each WordPress blog posted to Twitter begins with “posted to WP.com”.

Today I discovered a link within my WordPress publish box for editing publicized Twitter posts.

I am not sure whether the “posted to WP.com” Tweet introduction can be edited out or not but being able to add additional comments to Tweets should help make the theme and content of a each Tweeted WordPress blog post more clear to its audience.

WordPress Post To Twitter But No Twitter Tweets To WordPress

October 10, 2009

Several months ago I asked WordPress.com when I would be able to Tweet directly from my WordPress.com blogs.

WordPress has answered my question with their recent Publicize feature which Tweets posts like this one directly to a Twitter account.

WordPress users are rapidly adopting the new service as evidenced by the number of Tweets containing the WordPress Tweet signature – “Posted to WP.com.”

Any Tweet that begins with “Posted to WP.com was posted by a WordPress.com blogger.

At the same time I asked WordPress about being able to directly Tweet my blog posts, I also asked about how I could post to my WordPress account directly from my Twitter account.

I came up with some work arounds to get it done using the Bit.ly url shortener service, but the process required more energy than I cared to expend.

So Twitter and WordPress, when will I be able to send my Tweets to my WordPress blog to publish and “publicize” them via WordPress just like I can now publish and then “publicize” my WordPress blog posts to Twitter?

Posted to WP.com: Tweeting From WordPress

October 8, 2009

WordPress has finally made Tweeting blog posts directly to Twitter possible.

I have already written about my first WordPress direct to Twitter blog post  over on SearchMarketingCommunications.com.

As expected, WordPress converts all of the WordPress.com blogs posted to Twitter to their recently added shortened url service – WP.me.

I wasn’t the first one to Tweet from WordPress.com as evidenced by all of these posts found in a Twitter search for “Posted to WP.com”.

In addition to their My blog Admin page, WordPress.com bloggers can also find an Authorize Twitter link on the right rail of their add new post page.

WordPress bloggers probably ought to save a draft and preview their post before they publish it to make sure the post’s title doesn’t need to be changed which in turn would render the post’s WP.me shortened url moot.

This blog’s monthly visits are seeing an increase with each new blog post.

However, I think switching the WordPress subdomain to a private domain via their domain mapping service ultimately cost the site more traffic than what it would have enjoyed as a subdomain otherwise.

When Will I Be Able To Tweet My WordPress Posts Directly To Twitter?

August 16, 2009

WordPress recently introduced a new url shortening feature to the blogging community called “Get Shortlink”.

Wordpress Get Shortlink

WordPress bloggers can now get a shortened url for each of their WordPress blog posts by simply clicking the “Get Shortlink” button next to each of their post’s Permalink addresses.

The new url shortening feature from WordPress will save bloggers time and several keystrokes when Tweeting their most recent blog post to their Twitter account.

Great new feature Matt!

When will I be able to Tweet my most recent WordPress blog posts directly to my Twitter account?
