I headed over to my lake house today and treated my wife and two of my children to a first – an open cockpit helicopter ride over our beautiful lake – Lake Tenkiller.
I left the city without my camera so my wife was responsible for taking pictures with her camera.

Lake Tenkiller Helicopter Ride
Several decades ago, I used to fly to work on an offshore drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico aboard a Sikorsky SJ76.
I have been hooked on helicopter flight ever since!
When traveling, I often check out whether our vacation destination has any helicopter sightseeing services.
If they’re available, we give them a try.
Back when I worked offshore, I had flown in a Huey open cockpit over the Gulf of Mexico but hadn’t ever flown in a Jet Ranger open cockpit before let alone with my wife and kids strapped in the back seat!
The company who flew us just started flying tours over Lake Tenkiller this weekend and I happened to see their helicopter on the way to my house.
Both the ground crew and pilot were professional and I look forward to flying with them again soon.

Hi Tim-
I ran across your blog as I was looking for a link for the helicopter rides at Tenkiller. Could you tell me anything about them? Where do they leave from? When are they? Can you make a reservation? Any info would help. I was wanting to surprise my husband. Thanks again!

Was wondering if the 350 for 15 min was person?

No. I believe the $350 rate was for up to either four or five people. It is a good value.
